The main characteristics are as follows:
First, the total output value of the construction industry maintained rapid growth. In 2018, there were 1,427 construction enterprises in our city, completing a total construction output value of 187.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.66%; an increase of 33.4 billion yuan compared to the previous year.
Second, the contract signing amount increased significantly. In 2018, the total contract amount signed by construction enterprises in our city was 282 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 25.06%, of which the newly signed contract amount for the year was 181.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 17.34%.
Third, the housing construction area steadily expanded. In 2018, the housing construction area was 111.67 million square meters, a year-on-year increase of 14.78%; the newly started construction area for the year was 45.57 million square meters, a year-on-year increase of 17.6%.
Fourth, the assets of construction enterprises grew significantly. In 2018, the total assets of construction enterprises in Changzhou City amounted to 201.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.56%, and net assets were 92.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22.65%.
Fifth, the output value of large-scale construction enterprises further concentrated. In 2018, 34 enterprises completed a construction output value of over 1 billion yuan. The construction enterprises in Changzhou City with an output value exceeding 1 billion yuan completed a total construction output value of 103.2 billion yuan, accounting for 55% of the city's total construction output value. Among them, Longhai Construction Group Co., Ltd., Suhua Construction Group Co., Ltd., and Jiangsu Tianmu Construction Group Co., Ltd. each had an output value exceeding 10 billion yuan.
Fifth, the ability to expand outside the city further strengthened. In 2018, construction enterprises in Changzhou City completed a construction output value of 77.5 billion yuan outside the province, a year-on-year increase of 29.16%; within the province but outside the city, the construction output value was 40.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.32%.
