From February 7 to 10, a seminar for newly appointed members and alternate members of the Central Committee, as well as key provincial and ministerial-level leaders, on studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held in Beijing. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the State, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, delivered an important speech at the opening ceremony of the seminar, emphasizing that the summary and in-depth elaboration of the theory of Chinese-style modernization is a major theoretical innovation of the 20th National Congress of the Party and the latest significant achievement of scientific socialism.

"For more than a hundred years, all the struggles led by our Party to unite and lead the Chinese people have been aimed at building our country into a modernized strong nation and achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation," said Han Jun, a member of the Central Committee and Governor of Jilin Province. We must deeply study and understand the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech, firmly implement the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee with practical actions, and in the process of advancing Chinese-style modernization, strive to forge a new development path with higher quality, better efficiency, optimized structure, and fully released advantages, accelerating the comprehensive and all-round revitalization of Jilin in the new era.

General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that Chinese-style modernization is deeply rooted in the excellent traditional Chinese culture, embodies the advanced nature of scientific socialism, draws on and absorbs all outstanding achievements of human civilization, represents the development direction of human civilization progress, presents a new picture different from the Western modernization model, and is a brand-new form of human civilization.

Participants of the seminar stated that Chinese-style modernization breaks the myth that "modernization equals Westernization," sets a model and provides a new choice for developing countries to independently and autonomously move toward modernization, brings new development opportunities to countries around the world, and promotes the overall progress of humanity.
